“We don’t have to do it all alone. We were never meant to.” -Brené Brown

Welcome

Do you feel stuck in old patterns or struggle to feel present and connect with your body? We all carry unresolved experiences that shape our daily function and have "parts" of ourselves that feel hard to manage. My work is dedicated to developing a deeper understanding of these patterns, parts, and past experiences. We'll explore how these dynamics are held not just in the mind, but also physically in the body, so you can move forward with greater coping and healing. If you are ready to address anxiety, loneliness, grief, people-pleasing, or the effects of trauma and relationship ruptures, let's begin this journey together.

I believe you possess unique knowledge and skills from your lived experience. Knowing that one model doesn't fit all in trauma and grief work, I create a safe, empathic, and collaborative space. My goal is to help you bring awareness to your existing resources, identify what's important now, and leverage them to overcome challenges and achieve your goals.

It takes courage to consider therapy, and I truly understand that starting can feel daunting. My primary goal is always to build a trusting, safe, and collaborative relationship where you feel heard and understood. Together, we will embark on a supportive journey of self-discovery, gently uncovering the innate strength and resilience that is within you.

About Me

Melanie Wuytenburg, MSW, RSW / Psychotherapist

I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) in the province of Ontario, with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from King’s University College through Western University (2014). I have been dedicated to the mental health field for over fifteen years, practicing psychotherapy with children, youth, and adults in a variety of roles.  It was through my collective professional and personal experience that I became passionate about wanting to provide trauma-informed counselling to assist individuals in being able to understand and make sense of their lived experience while moving towards personal growth.

In my private practice, I offer individual therapy to children, youth and adults. Individuals seek out my support for grief and loss, anxiety, burnout, depression, suicidal ideation, loneliness, disconnect from who they are,  single incidents of trauma and/or childhood trauma (PTSD and C-PSTD), relationship ruptures, adoption-related issues.

My practice is heavily informed by frameworks that prioritize compassion, client agency, and context:

Deep-Brain Re-orienting (DBR)

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

Trauma-Informed Stabilization Treatment (TIST)

Mindfulness & Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC) techniques

Attachment Theory

Feminist, Anti-Oppressive, and Intersectional Frameworks

Narrative Therapy

Providing you with a warm space to connect
